Systems engineering for intelligent systems

Virtualisation forms the basis for designing intelligent systems in order to ensure reliable proof of function and an early design of the required components in the early design phase. Our aim is to increase the informative value of the simulation models and the product properties derived from the model in such a way that tests on expensive prototypes can be significantly reduced.

The development of intelligent systems is characterised by cooperation between different specialist disciplines and the reuse of proven partial solutions. We are therefore working on the further development of design technology that explicitly supports system virtualisation across the various technical disciplines. Already during the conception phase, a model-based functional verification of the principle solution is provided by means of idealised simulation models. In the subsequent elaboration phase, the components are worked out in parallel teams of specialists and enriched with detailed simulation models. Cross-disciplinary coordination ensures the consistency of the overall system.
